NOTE: the swim venue is now GOSS LAKE (adjacent to Lone Lake, where the

AND motorized boat traffic. You'll love it. Here are a few photos
of 2006's swim leg in Goss Lake (courtesy Dave Welton), in the event you
missed it.

The
transition area (T1 -- see map
here) is different
from last year, to make it easier for you to get through and out onto the bike
course. T1 will be set up in a dirt parking and beach access area, with
carpet mats placed to provide padded paths for you and your bare feet.
-
When you exit the water, you'll immediately enter an area where your
transition bag (provided in your registration packet) will be located,
arranged by race number.
-
Your first transition task is to locate your bag, which you will have
packed with your cycling gear before the race start.
-
Your second transition task is to enter the adjacent changing area and change into your cycling gear.
-
Your third transition task is to put all of your swim gear in the transition
bag you just emptied, and hand that bag to a race volunteer as you enter the
bike rack area. Your bag will be transported to the race finish area in
Community Park, where you'll be able to pick it up after the race.
-
Your final transition task is to unrack your bike and head out of T1 up
the hill and onto the road (<50 meters), where you'll be able to mount your
bike and depart on the bike leg of the course.
