Intermediate Canine Nosework

ADULT HANDLERS 18+ (16+ w/ adult)
Nosework is a fun activity and sport for all dogs and is ideal for ones needing more confidence, senior dogs, young dogs, super energetic dogs, and reactive dogs. Dogs love to hunt & sniff. Nosework explores this wonderful behavior in our dogs.

The intermediate nosework class introduces the dogs to birch, anise and clove essential oils to prepare them for trial competition. It builds upon the foundation skills learned in the introduction to nosework class and introduces more complex search scenarios, including searching in different environments, increasing search duration, and introducing distractions to challenge the dog’s scenting abilities.

Pre-requisite: Participants must have completed Intro to Nosework. We reserve the right to restrict any dog’s participation for any reason, for the safety of other dogs and participants. Evidence of current vaccinations required.

Instructor: Jan Shannon () is a professional dog trainer certified by Karen Pryor Academy (KPA CTP), and Animal Behavior College (ABCDT) and the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers (CPDTKA).
