BBQ at Maxwelton Beach A BBQ on the beach, what could be better?
Join us for a fun afternoon of Frisbee, beach balls, running in
the surf, sack races with prizes and squirt gun mayhem.
There will be great food with BBQ hamburgers, potato salad, corn
on the cob, watermelon and cupcakes. A perfect summer day
of food and fun with the perfect scenery of Maxwelton Beach.
Bring a towel, swimsuit, sunscreen, sunglasses and hat (if
desired). Date: Thu, July 17 Camping at Deception Pass Experience camping at Whidbey Island's
jewel: Deception Pass campground. During this
three-day, two-night camping trip, you will get to sleep in
tents, cook s'mores over a campfire, enjoy a pancake & bacon
breakfast and BBQ hamburgers and hot dogs. Take short
hikes, go swimming at the roped-in and shallow end of Cranberry
Lake and play cards and board games. You will learn how to
make a campfire, set up a tent and you will also learn teamwork,
by helping with the preparation of meals, washing dishes and

Go-Karting Here's your chance to legally
drive...go-carts, that is. We'll take Island Transit from
Langley to Brattland Go-Karts in Oak Harbor to do some serious
driving around their 1/4-mile track. For $26 you will get
six five-minute laps around the track, a mini pizza, 12 oz. soda
and 10 tokens for their game arcade. If you want to play
more games you can get a special rate of $4 for 25 tokens.
This is going to be two hours of fun! Space is limited, so

have a cool place to hang out? Stop by the Hub and just
hang with your friends, eat free food, play games and listen to
cool music. We have pool tables, air hockey, foosball,
ping-pong, Nintendo Wii games, cards and board games. We
will serve a free lunch between 11:30am and 1pm and a
special ice cream sundae after lunch. Sign up so we have
enough food on hand. |

Introduction to Horses & Beginning Horsemanship Learn the basics of horsemanship in two
lessons. In lesson one you will learn how horses think and
react and the grooming and handling of them. During lesson two
you will ride a horse in a safe, enclosed area and learn how to
control it, make it go, turn and most importantly, stop. Then
you will take them out on a trail ride. This is a great
opportunity for participants to get comfortable with these gentle
beginner horses, develop confidence in themselves and have fun doing
it in a supportive one-on-one setting. Lessons will be held at
the "Trails' End Equestrian Learning Center" in Coupeville
and we will be riding Island Transit to and from Coupeville.
Students are required to take both classes and a bag lunch will be
prvided. Wear appropriate boots/shoes to be around and ride
horses. Meet at the Hub to catch Island Transit; bus will
return to the Hub. Classes are two hours long and limited to

Learn to Sail We are surrounded by water so why not learn how
to navigate it? Here is your opportunity to learn from
Whidbey's best. Sailors from the South Whidbey Yacht
Club will be giving 3.5 hour intensive lessons on everything
from safety skills, knot tying, rigging up and breaking down to the
techniques and hands-on skills of sailing on Lone Lake. These
12' "Pelicans" were originally designed for the rough and windy
waters of San Francisco Bay. Perfect for beginning sailors,
they are stable, safe and easy to learn. You won't get a
better chance to learn these skills with this much hands-on time for
this rate. Bag lunch provided. Must be comfortable with
water activities. Wear shoes/boots that can get wet.

Swim at Oak Harbor Pool Join your Whidbey neighbors and swim in Oak
Harbor's heated, Olympic-size Vanderzicht Memorial Pool.
Dive off of standard and high diving boards, shoot down the slide,
swing or just splash and play around in the shallow end. After
swimming, take a soothing soak in their hot tubs. You cannot
beat it for a fun and relaxing day. Bag lunch provided.

Wild Waves Water & Theme Park Here is the activity that every kid wants this
summer. Whether it is sliding down Wild Waves corkscrew
slides, jumping waves in the Wave Pool or riding the looping Wild
Thing roller coaster and other rides in Enchanted Village, there is
plenty of fun at this popular theme park. We will charter a
bus and take 21 students on this all day excursion. A bag
lunch with drink and dessert will be provided. Fee includes
entry ticket, charter bus and driver, ferry, gas, parking, locker
fees and bag lunch. Bring swimsuit, towel, sunscreen,

Learn to Skim-Board Learn how to glide on the tide! Owners of
Jack'd Skimboards and friends will be teaching the
technique, skills and safety issues of skim-boarding at Double Bluff
Beach. This fun and growing water sport has been around since
the 1920's and has only in recent years come into its own. It
is a great sport you can do by yourself or with your friends, with
low cost output, while enjoying the beautiful scenery of the beach.
This three-hour lesson is offered at a discount to give you the
opportunity to experience it. A picnic lunch will be served
and space is limited so reserve your space now. Meet at the
grassy area next to the parking lot at Double Bluff.
