ABOUT THE WHIDBEY ISLAND TRIATHLON
This is a great first triathlon and a fun event for veteran triathletes. This very scenic course starts with a 0.5 mile swim in beautiful Goss Lake. Leaving the lake on your bike, you’ll begin the 19.5 mile ride through paved country roads. The bike course is hilly with views of Saratoga Passage and the North Cascades. Finish with a 3.8 mile run through forest trails at Community Park and on country roads. Chip timing is provided by BuDu Racing. Extensive support provided by friendly volunteers. Open to the first
300 swimmers, this event has limited space and fills to capacity, so register early!

Volunteers are welcome and very much needed to keep this a fun and safe event! Check out the options and sign up to volunteer online at http://vols.pt/yCyVx2. Email Carrie at email@example.com or call (360) 221-6788 with additional questions.
Due to the nature of the multi sport business, many of our expenses need to be paid up front to reserve supplies and receive permits. It is therefore not possible for us to provide refunds on registrations (unless we have to cancel the event, in which case we will provide a full refund minus any registration service fees). To date we have never had to cancel an event, and we will do our best to continue that record. We will, however, provide rollover credits for next year’s race if for some unfortunate reason you are unable to join us for this year’s event and have already registered. If you need to discuss a credit with us, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org and complete a Rollover Credits Request Form. Registrants need to contact us prior to 30 days of the event in order to receive their credit for the following year’s event. Requests made 30 days or less to the day of the event will null and void their right for a rollover voucher, although we will try to be as flexible as possible. Please understand that it is not our intention to profit from this policy, rather to be able to continue to offer a consistent quality of event at a reasonable cost.
Whidbey Island Kids Triathlon
Date: Monday, August 29, 2016, 8:30am start
Details: Join us for the first ever Whidbey Island Kids Triathlon!! The Whidbey Kids Tri is a swim/bike/run triathlon for kids, ages 6-17.
The WIKT will be a fun and challenging event that will improve your child’s self confidence as they cross the finish line on their own. Triathlons encourage a healthy way of life through fun physical activity. What better way to build confidence and encourage healthy competition than with a fun, safe introduction to the sport of triathlon? We strongly encourage friends and family to come cheer on these young athletes for one of the best spectator events of the season.
Waves and distances will vary (TBA). Each triathlete will swim first in the Useless Bay Golf & Country Club pool, go directly to bicycling, then running on the golf course paths. All participants will receive a WKT finisher shirt. Registration will be extremely limited for our first year as we keep it small to allow us to work out the kinks of putting on this new event. More details are coming and registration will open soon. This is a fantastic opportunity for your child to participate in an enjoyable, low-key, athletic event.
It takes a village! Each registrant must provide a minimum of 1 hour of adult volunteer service. Duties may be done in advance of the race, during the race, or immediately following the event.
Monday?! The WIKT will be held on Mondays because those are “down” days for the golf course, when they can accommodate our use of their greens. We realize this will limit some peoples’ ability to participate, but in order to put on the safest event possible, we decided to run this event at the golf course and we are so grateful that they are willing to share their lovely location with us!
